Breaking Out While Staying In

Abstract: This column explores the library community’s increased use of virtual escape rooms during the COVID-19 pandemic. These activities are appealing because of their low cost, adaptability, and potential to engage patrons across demographics. The author describes her experience planning and executing a virtual escape room for undergraduate library orientation, and discusses the future of library escape rooms beyond the pandemic era.
