Building a diverse curriculum: The role of diversity across communication coursework

Abstract: The present study utilizes student essays about diversity to examine ways in which students are exposed to diversity as communication majors throughout their coursework. Four themes emerged from this analysis. First, students became more aware and open-minded. Second, their understanding of different viewpoints and cultural differences increased.
