Abstract:We report bulk Rashba spin splitting (RSS) and associated Dirac surface state in (Bi0.9Sb0.1)2Se3, exhibiting dominant p-type conductivity. We argue from the synchrotron diffraction studies that origin of the bulk RSS is due to a structural transition to a noncentrosymmetric R3m phase below ∼ 30 K. The Shubnikov-de Haas Van (SdH) oscillations observed in the magnetoresistance curves at low temperature and the Landau level fan diagram, as obtained from these oscillations, confirm the presence of nontrivial Dira… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
