The majority of the few cases of previously reported burn scar UPS have been localized lesions as seen in Table 1, save for the patient reported here and the one case reported by Yamamura et al 6,2634 As mentioned above, because distinguishing between indolent and aggressive forms of UPS is difficult at the present, it might just be that the two cases developed aggressive forms of UPS during the latent period since burn injury. One may speculate that the longer the duration between burn and diagnosis, the higher possibility of metastasis, but based on the cases seen in Table 1, there does not seem to be a correlation.…”
