Botnets account for a substantial portion of cybercrime. Botmasters utilize darkweb marketplaces to promote and provide their services, which can vary from renting or buying a botnet (or parts of it), to hiring services (e.g. distributed denial of service attacks). At the same time, botnet takedown attempts have proven to be challenging, demanding a combination of technical and legal methods, and often requiring the collaboration of a plethora of entities with varying jurisdictions. In this article, we map the elements associated with the business aspect of botnets, and utilize them to develop adaptations of two widely used business models. Furthermore, we analyze the 28 most notable botnet takedown operations carried out over from 2008 to 2021, in regard to the methods employed, and illustrate the correlation between these methods and the segments of our adapted business models. Our analysis suggests that the botnet takedown methods have been mainly focused on the technical side, but not on the botnet economic components. We aim to shed light on new takedown vectors and incentivize takedown actors to expand their efforts to methods oriented more towards the business side of botnets, which could contribute towards eliminating some of the challenges that surround takedown operations.

Taman hiburan perlu untuk mereview kembali strategi bisnisnya untuk dapat beradaptasi di masa new normal ini, dengan cara mengexplore kembali core business perusahaan, memperkuat kerjasama dengan business partner dan supplier, memperluas segmentasi market, dan mengeksplorasi teknologi untuk dapat memberikan layanan baru. Penelitian ini merupakan desain Enterprise Architect pada bisnis taman hiburan yang berisi arsitektur bisnis yang digambarkan dengan business model canvas, desain arsitektur informasi, aplikasi dan teknologi. Metodologi penelitian kualitatif dilakukan dengan cara studi literature terhadap data sekunder, dan Archimate digunakan untuk memvisualisasi desain. Penggambaran Enterprise Architecture taman hiburan dengan menggunakan archimate menjelaskan dengan terstruktur bagaimana strategi bisnis yang tertuang didalam arsitektur bisnis , ke layer – layer lainnya. Sehingga tujuan perusahaan misalnya dalam meningkatkan pendapatan atau layanan kepada pengunjung, dapat divisualisasikan kedalam proses bisnisnya seperti proses yang terkait dengan pembelian tiket, pembelian merchandise, hotel dan akomodasi, dapat divisualiassikan dengan jelas kedalam arsitektur aplikasi, arsitektur data dan arsitektur teknologinya. Hal ini akan mempermudah setiap bagian di perusahaan untuk memahami bagaimana mencapai tujuan – tujuan dari perusahaan.

Authentibility Pass: An Accessible Authentication Gateway for People with Reduced Abilities

Authentication is a key component of modern web interfaces. As such, it is important that these authentication mechanisms are inclusive to all users including those with reduced abilities. In this paper, we describe our work on Authentibility Pass that allows users with reduced abilities to communicate their authentication and accessibility requirements to organisations, thus ensuring that authentication is accessible. We first, describe a market validation phase of 30 minute interviews (N=9) with key stakeholders, such as higher education institutions, charities and financial institutions. From our findings, we identified that people with reduced abilities need to repeatedly inform organisations of their requirements. The Authentibility Pass Proof of Concept was then developed comprising of an Android application, database, web interface and Application Programming Interface (API). The market validation results, requirements specification, user interface designs and preliminary evaluation results are discussed, including suggestions for future work. Authentibility Pass will increase the awareness of organisations to customer requirements with reduced abilities, resulting in higher levels of satisfaction.
