Abstract:O objetivo desse artigo é compreender o significado e as características centrais da chamada música “brega”, ou “cafona”, que se popularizou no Brasil, entre as décadas de 1960 e 1970, para, a partir daí, se averiguar a forma e a extensão da influência que essa produção musical exerceu no trabalho artístico de Raul Seixas (1945-1989), suas canções e persona pública.
