The certified occupational therapy assistant's role continues to be of concern to our profession. Occupational therapy personnel have identified the same issues, especially role confusion and inadequate supervision, as problems without clear solutions for almost two decades. The author addresses these and other problems and proposes use of de Bono's lateral thinking style for problem analysis and resolution.
