Abstract: Background: Hypertension is identified as a chronicdisease leading to complications and untimely deaths ifleft untreated or undiagnosed.There are several factors that contribute to theworsening of hypertension either directly or indirectly.Medication noncompliance is one of the direct factors.Depression plays a significant role as an indirect factorwhich convolutes management goals in hypertension.Correlation of mental health and adherence tomedication requires further exploration.
