Patients were defined as CRS according to the Treatment Response and Resistance in Psychosis (TRRIP) criteria, which includes assessment of clozapine plasma levels (≥ 350ng/mL) at baseline. MCCB assessment was done at baseline and after 20 sessions of ECT or Sham-ECT.The study was submitted for publication through two articles whose summary is found in the body of this dissertation and in its entirety in the annexes.Results: patients treated with ECT or Sham-ECT showed no significant differences at baseline except in terms of years of education, which was included as a covariate in all analyses. After the intervention period of 20 ECT/Sham-ECT treatment sessions, both groups did not show statistically significant differences, both in terms of the primary outcome and secondary outcomes including cognitive functioning assessed by the MCCB.
