“…the Si-C-C bond angle (109.5 ) [Zhou and Roovers (1993); Roovers and Ding (2009)]. Figure 1(C) illustrates the molecular details of the carbosilane dendritic core and the coupling of linear polybutadiene chains to form the star [Gauthier and Munam (2010)].…”

“…Synthesis of fully developed CBS was performed in 1990s by three research groups, namely van der Made et al, Zhou et al, and Muzafarov et al62 This type of dendrimers can be distinguished by relatively easy synthesis, which is performed mainly by the divergent method, kinetic and thermodynamic stability resulting from the high energy of C–Si bond. Low polarity of this bond entails a hydrophobic character of the nanomolecule, which can be, however, abolished by modification of the surface with hydrophilic functional groups 63. The possibility of synthesis of water‐soluble CBS with various moieties at the termini renders them useful in medical applications.…”

“…Accordingly the effect of changing scriptl on, for example, rheological or calorimetric characteristics would be quite tangible. Moreover, to date, representative series of carbosilane dendrimers with well-known −(CH 2 ) 2 , and −(CH 2 ) 3 – distances between the branch nodes have been synthesized and studied in detail, so they are ready-made objects for comparison.…”
