“…Ramos & Mount (1953) and several subsequent authors found no communication between the ipsilateral superior ophthalmic vein and the cavernous sinus at angiography. Tamler (1954) suggested that this lack of communication might be due to one of several conditions, e. g. a thrombus or a traumatic rupture of the vein, an obstruction of its proximal portion by a dilated carotid artery, or a n anomaly of its course.…”
