Carrier-envelope phase stabilized high temporal contrast femtosecond laser source at 1053 nm

Abstract: We demonstrate a carrier-envelope phase (CEP) stabilized high temporal contrast generator at 1053 nm for the first time. The device relies on a collinear optical parametric amplifier (OPA) followed by a frequency-doubling crystal. It is driven by a femtosecond laser source centered at 800 nm and finally generates CEP passively stabilized pulses with an energy of 130 µJ and a FWHM for the spectrum of 40 nm with 46 fs pulse duration at 1053 nm. The temporal contrast reaches >10 11 at a few picoseconds before the… Show more

“…High amplified spontaneous emission contrast of 1011 in a Nd:glass laser based on a hybrid double chirped pulse amplification scheme the pump source [17]. This device shifts the wavelength of the pulse from 800 nm to 1053 nm, which matches with the gain spectrum of Nd:glass; further, the temporal contrast of the generated 1053 nm pulse is very high (better than 10 11 ).…”

“…As a seed source, the beam stability and quality are adequate. Compared to other works driven by 800 nm laser [ 22 , 23 ] , parasitic third-order nonlinear effects can be reduced because of the scaling of the critical power for self-focusing with λ 2[ 24 ] . Despite the narrow bandwidth of the Yb laser, spectral broadening and wavelength tuning can be achieved by OPA.…”

“…In the past several years, we have developed a new pulse cleaning device which combines three cascaded fs-OPAs and a second harmonic generation (SHG) device to generate the high-contrast seed with sub-mJ energy [9, 10] . Based on the high-contrast seed pulses, we also have demonstrated high-contrast amplified outputs at the energy level of 100 mJ [10, 11] .…”
