Abstract:Carotid atherosclerosis and giant cell arteritis (GCA) are two distinct medical conditions with an overlapping clinical spectrum of vascular symptoms such as vision loss and ischemic stroke. This is because both diseases cause arterial ischemia with a predilection for carotid vasculature.
