Abstract: While the activities of certain proteases promote proteostasis and prevent neurodegeneration-associated phenotypes, the protease cathepsin B (CTSB) enhances proteotoxicity in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) model mice, and its levels are elevated in brains of AD patients.
