This paper proposes a method to ensure compatibility between physical devices for implementing a service design. The method supports the relaxation of strict implementation. It allows a set of compatible devices to be implemented instead of specifying specific devices in the service design. This paper’s main contribution is the formalization of device constraints using the device’s attributes and a method to check the compatibility between devices. The method’s characteristic is that a service designer can decide the level of strictness and abstractness of the design by adjusting the compatibility rate. We show the feasibility of the proposed method to achieve the goal of “Design Once, Provide Anywhere” with an application example. We also evaluated the quality of service of the implemented IoT service in a different environment using a platform called Elgar.

Recently we observed a computational scenario growth where the objects socially connected integration to people's daily routines occurs, they offer automated services in a more timely manner, with a minimum of human intervention. Due to challenges not yet overcomes in this complex scenario, this article Systematic Literature Review contributions, which integrates research efforts focused on aspects of relationship management in intelligent environments. Thus, 439 articles were selected from the digital repositories ACM, IEEE, and Scopus, where 105 accepted and another 21 qualified and discussed. Among the RSL contributions comply with a systematization involving parameters of SIoT relationship management. Resumo: Observa-se o crescimento de cenários computacionais onde ocorre a integração de objetos conectados em uma perspectiva social no dia a dia das pessoas, eles oferecem serviços automatizados de forma mais oportuna, procurando reduzir o esforço cognitivo humano. Devido aos desafios ainda não superados neste cenário complexo, o presente estudo contribui com uma Revisão Sistemática da Literatura (RSL) que compreende esforços de pesquisa voltados a aspectos da gestão de relacionamento em ambientes inteligentes. Assim, foram selecionados 439 artigos dos repositórios digitais ACM, IEEE e Scopus, dos quais 105 foram aceitos e outros 21 qualificados e discutidos. Dentre as contribuições da RSL realizada destaca-se uma sistematização envolvendo parâmetros de gestão em relacionamentos na SIoT.

The Web of Things (WoT) is a technology concept that allows the integration of the Internet of Things (IoT) with the World Wide Web (WWW). It will vastly affect our lives in the near future given that it offers new services and applications via the well-known web window. In todays’ world where one can hardly imagine everyday life without access to various online services and applications via a plethora of devices, one can notice that technology has a huge impact on our day-to-day quality of living. That is why a user’s Quality of Experience (QoE) towards used technology in general plays a crucial role in their Quality of Life (QoL). Furthermore, security perception in terms of technology is the feature that vastly affects QoE and, consequently, QoL, as the number of security and privacy threats, risks, and vulnerabilities in cyber space, i.e., the technology environment that we increasingly use, is constantly rising. In order to reach the ultimate goals—the adoption of WoT technology and improvement of our QoL—we must know how this important aspect of security is so far addressed and analyzed. Therefore, this paper gives a comprehensive and structured analysis of the existing literature in this field through a proposed framework and provides an overview of research opportunities that should be addressed and elaborated in future investigations.
