Abstract: Cell-wall (CW) development in the desmid Penium margaritaceum (Ehrenb.) Bréb. was studied using immunofluorescence labeling of living cells with the monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) JIM5 and JIM7, which recognize unesterified and methyl-esterified homogalacturonan (HG), respectively.
