Cerium-Based Electrocatalysts for Oxygen Evolution/Reduction Reactions: Progress and Perspectives

Abstract: Ce-based materials have been widely used in photocatalysis and other fields because of their rich redox pairs and oxygen vacancies, despite research on the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) remaining scare. However, most pristine cerium-based materials, such as CeO2, are non-conductive materials. Therefore, how to obtain highly conductive and stable OER/ORR electrocatalysts is currently a hot research topic. To overcome these limitations, researchers have proposed a variety of… Show more

“…Frequency-dependent contrast enhancement in EIT involves complex interactions between electromagnetic fields and materials, mainly guided by the frequency-dependent electrical properties of the substances under examination [16,17]. The crucial electrical parameters in this context are conductivity and permittivity, which exhibit varying behaviors in response to the frequency of the applied electrical signal.…”

“…This capability enhances in vivo bone regeneration [ 42 ]. Nanomaterials and nano-structure is very excellent and novel Nanomaterials and nanostructures advanced materials in the medicine [ [43] , [44] , [45] , [46] ] and industries [ [47] , [48] , [49] ]. Reports indicate that the application of nanosized hydroxyapatite (HA) particles in 3D-printed bone composite scaffolds, specifically poly-caprolactone (PCL) blended with nanosized HA particles, boosts adhesion, viability, and osteogenic differentiation of human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs).…”

“…20 Compared with traditional inorganic photocatalysts, metal-organic complexes can act as light-harvesting antennas for the efficient utilization of solar energy. [21][22][23] Moreover, the collective behavior of POMs and metal-organic complexes could combine and maximize the advantages of the two systems, thus producing excellent photocatalytic performances. 22,24 In recent years, various POMbased metal-organic complex photocatalysts have been used for organic pollutant degradation, nitrogen fixation and Cr(VI) reduction.…”
