Cervical Acid Phosphatase: Evaluation as an Adjuvant to Papanicolaou Smear Screening in Cervical Cancer Detection

Abstract: Carcinoma of cervix accounts for 15% of all cancers diagnosed worldwide and is the second most common cancer in women. In the year 2000 there were over 4,71,000 new cases diagnosed and 2,88,000 deaths from cervical cancer. (1) Approximately 79% of these deaths occurred in developing countries.
