Challenges in the Application of Indicators for Assessment of Effectiveness as a Result of the Digitalisation of Processes in Control Institutions

Abstract

The assessment of the effectiveness as a result of digitalisation of processes in control institutions is a complex methodological process that requires a combination of knowledge and skills of the persons engaged with it. The complexity also stems from the specifics of the organisation tested and analysed because each institution is an independent body and the digitalisation of processes undergoes different stages and digital transformations influence the respective institution in a different way. This study suggests ЕDPEO as a new indicator for studying the effectiveness resulting from digitalisation of processes in control institutions. The systematic literature review and the analysis of the data from control institutions during the period from 2015 to 2022 resulted in this new and innovative indicator.
