Abstract:Protein metabolism was investigated in detached hamster retinas. By sucking off 0.2 ml of aqueous humor from the anterior chamber through limbic insertion of a 27-gauge needle, a tractional force pulled off the neural retina from the retinal pigment epithelium and created a simple detachment without retinal breaks in the right eyes of the hamsters.
