“…A previous study showed that LV in patients with liver fibrosis tended to increase with the severity of fibrosis from stage 0 to 3, but decrease at stage 4 (). The increasing volume of liver with the progress of liver fibrosis from stage 0 to 3 was perhaps due to the ballooning of hepatocytes along with increased fibrotic components (). However, in advanced fibrosis, LV gradually decreased because of the segmental or global liver atrophy ().…”

“…According to other studies (), the authors evaluated the enlargement of spleen in liver fibrosis and did not take liver inflammation into consideration. Not considering inflammation affecting enlargement of the spleen as in these published articles (), we performed this study initially focusing on using multiple parameters on MRI for measuring the enlargement of spleen to stage liver fibrosis. Our future study will focus on how to discriminate between liver fibrosis and inflammation affecting enlargement of the spleen.…”

“…Splenomegaly is often used radiologically as an indicator of cirrhosis. It has been shown that portal venous pressure positively correlates with spleen size . Therefore, we evaluated the usefulness of splenic perfusion and spleen size in assessing the degree of liver fibrosis.…”

“…It has been shown that portal venous pressure positively correlates with spleen size. [8][9][10][11][12] Therefore, we evaluated the usefulness of splenic perfusion and spleen size in assessing the degree of liver fibrosis. The aim of this study was to pinpoint the extent to which splenic perfusion indicates the degree of liver fibrosis and to enhance the usefulness of splenic perfusion, evaluated by means of dynamic computed tomography (CT), and of spleen size, in assessing the degree of liver fibrosis.…”
