Changes in the immune status in children with atopic asthma after ultrasound therapy

Abstract

The aim of the research was to study the dynamics of immunological parameters in children with atopic asthma after application of ultrasound therapy on the area of the projection of the thymus. Material and methods. The study involved 43 children aged 5 to 18 years: 23 patients with atopic asthma, 20 children of the control group. Determines the level of the following indicators of leukocytes and lymphocytes: СD3+, CD4+, СD4+CD25+, CD19+CD23++, CD203с+CD63+, CD203с+IgE+, FcεRI+, CD23+IgE+. Results. А statistically significant decrease in the level of СD4+CD25+ lymphocytes, CD19+CD23++ lymphocytes is observed after exposure to ultrasound in the projection area of the thymus. Low levels of СD4+CD25+ lymphocytes persisted after 3 months from the start of the study, the level of CD19+CD23++ lymphocytes returned to the initial value after 82-90 days. It was found a statistically significant reduction CD203с+CD63+ basophils, CD203с+IgE+ of basophils after ultrasound therapy, but then there was an increase of these parameters to the initial values. Statistically significant differences it is not revealed in the analysis of eosinophil phenotype. Conclusion. The findings of the study data demonstrate the effect of ultrasound on the parameters of the immune status in children with bronchial asthma.
