Changes That May Occur in Temperature, Rain, and Climate Types Due to Global Climate Change: The Example of Düzce

Abstract: Global climate change is defined as a process that affects all living things and ecosystems globally and is claimed as the most critical problem of the current century. Turkey, which is shown as one of the most affected countries by this process, is among the “countries at risk.” It is stated that the temperature will increase throughout the country until 2100, and this increase may reach 6 ºC. In order to determine the possible effects of global climate change, it is necessary to predict how the climate struc… Show more

“…Besides that, the most useful plants to be used in monitoring and reducing heavy metal pollution should be determined regionally because plants' capacity to fulfill the functions and benefits expected from them depends on their healthy growth and development [54][55][56][57][58][59]. Plant development, as with all other phenotypic characteristics, is shaped by the mutual interaction between genetic structure [60][61][62] and environmental conditions [63][64][65][66][67][68][69][70]. For this reason, the optimum development conditions of each plant are related to different edaphic and climatic conditions [71][72][73][74].…”

“…This process caused global climate change through direct and indirect effects. Nowadays, the effects of global climate change can be seen everywhere, and it is estimated that the climatic anomalies would further increase [6][7][8][9]. As a result of climate change, the air temperature has been raised by almost 1 ºC in the 20th century and keeps increasing in this century [10], and environmental stresses and drought events have become more frequent and severe in natural habitat [11][12][13][14][15] arid and semi-arid regions, and marginal lands worldwide [16].…”

“…The most dominant environmental factors affecting plant growth are climatic [11][12][13][14] and edaphic situations [15][16][17]. Perhaps the most important of these factors is nutritional elements.…”
