“…As negative δ 13 C excursions occurred before each of the snowball Earth glaciations, CO 2 drawdown associated with perturbations of the global carbon cycle was considered to be the cause of the first low-latitude glaciation (Tziperman et al, 2011;Schrag et al, 2002). In South China, two glaciations, recorded by Jiangkou Formation and Nantuo Formation, respectively, have been documented (Zhang et al, 2011).
