The signal peptide of large yellow croaker was found to be of 36 amino acids whereas M. miiuy possessed a signal peptide of 26 amino acids and rohu has a signal peptide of 19 amino acids (Guo, Wu, Lv, & Liu, ; Meng et al, ). The typical C9 sequence of rohu confirmed it as a part of primitive complement system molecule like other carp species.…”

The first and the second TSP1 domains were rich in cysteine, and they contained the C‐mannosylation motifs WXXW and WXXWXXW, respectively, like southern catfish (Fu et al, ), suggesting similar nature of function of rohu C9 like other animals.…”
