Characterizing Peridotite Xenoliths From Southern Vietnam: Insight Into the Underlying Lithospheric Mantle

Abstract: Lithospheric mantle xenoliths in Vietnam record a heterogeneous subcontinental lithospheric mantle (SCLM) beneath Indochina, containing fertile and refractory compositions • Refractory xenoliths overall derive from shallower depths than fertile xenoliths, suggesting a chemically stratified Indochinese SCLM • The SCLM was metasomatized by melts resembling Cenozoic basalts, suggesting only one melt infiltration event that does not require delamination
