“…The electron number density, measured by Stark broadening of N + , reached ne = 9×10 18 cm -3 , representing an ionization of 36%. Such high electron number densities and temperatures were also measured by other teams in pin-to-pin configurations [10][11][12][13][14] and nanosecond Dielectric Barrier Discharges [15,16].…”

“…A broadband radiation in a visible range of spectra with no traces of material of the electrode but with clearly detected lines of atomic nitrogen ions was recorded in discharge at P = 1 atm air in 3 cm gap under the voltage pulse 90 kV in amplitude [22]. Similar spectra, with atomic nitrogen ions lines dominated over the cw emission, were observed in [25] in the constricted SDBD powered by a burst of unipolar pulses 400 µs in duration and 20 kV in amplitude. It should be noted that the most of presented spectrum are socalled review spectrum not calibrated for the spectral sensitivity of the system, and the decay in the UV-region can be caused by the transmission of optics.…”

“…The authors of Ref. [17] showed that the "contraction" of the discharge channel is associated with the appearance of a continuum spectrum and lines of N + , N, O, and Hα.…”
