Chemical Environmental Effect on Muon Capture Processes for Iron Compounds

Abstract: Muon irradiation experiments were performed on two iron compounds with different valences of the central metal (K 3 [Fe(CN) 6 ] and K 4 [Fe(CN) 6 ]3H 2 O), and muonic X-rays from these compounds were measured. The muon capture probability to each atom and muonic X-ray structure were investigated in detail. Differences in intensities of X-rays of muon nitrogen and muon capture on iron were observed between the two compounds.
