Abstract: Ceria (CeO2) nanoparticles with haloperoxidase (HPO)-like activity have gained attention as a biologically benign antifoulant. 3,4-Dihydroxy-l-phenylalanine (DOPA), a main composition in mussel foot proteins, plays a crucial role in the biofouling process.
