ChemInform Abstract: A Hydridovinyliridium Complex More Stable Than Its η2‐Ethylene Isomer.

Abstract: ChemInform Abstract On heating the four-coordinate 16-electron η2-ethylene-Ir(I) complex (I) completely converts into the six-coordinate hydridovinyl-Ir(III) isomer (II). The half-life of the reaction is 4,5 h at 100 rc C. The new ligand tris(3-(trifluoromethyl)-5-methylpyrazol-1-yl)borate which changes from a bidentate to a three-dentate coordination causes the reversed stability.
