Abstract:. -The new title compound is prepared by a simple, rapid, cost-effective, and environmental friendly route from a mixture of CoCO3, Fe, and H3PO4 in a water/acetone mixture (25°C, 10 min; annealing of the precipitate at 500°C for 3 h). CoFeP4O12 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/c (powder XRD) and exhibits superparamagnetic behavior. The material may be useful for potential applications as super-phosphate and micronutrient fertilizer, inorganic ceramic pigment, and for corrosion-proof compositions.
