ring closure reactions ring closure reactions O 0130 -043A Straightforward and Novel Synthesis of Sulfur Compounds from Aliphatic Cyclic Ketones and CS 2 .-The reaction of aliphatic cyclic ketones with carbon disulfide under basic conditions followed by an acidic treatment affords sulfur compounds such as dithiolethiones (III), dithiinthiones (IV), trithioles (VI), (IX), and dixanthates (VII) instead of the expected conjugated α-oxoketene dithiolic acids.
