Abstract:ChemInform Abstract A high yield route to the bridging dinitrogen complex (III) consists of the reduction of (I) by sodium amalgam in the presence of N2. This complex is regarded as high valent metal hydrazido (4-) complex. It reacts with relatively strong acids to give products such as (V).
