Abstract

A Synthetic Route to 3-(Dialkylamino)phenothiazin-5-ium Salts and 3,7-Disubstituted Derivatives Containing Two Different Amino Groups.-Phenothiazinium salts are important industrial dyes and medicinal agents.It is known that methylene blue inhibits intracellular replication of viruses including HIV. Thus, a series of analogues of methylene blue is synthesized in order to conduct structure-activity relationship analyses for this new class of anti-HIV agents.
