Abstract: CeMnAlHx, a New Metal Hydride.-The new title hydride is prepared by hydrogenation of CeMnAl alloys crystallizing as cubic C15 Laves phase (Fdr3rm, MgCu 2 structure type) with random Al-Mn distribution on the B sites of this AB 2 -type phase. At low pressure (¡ 10 mbar) a stable hydride phase is formed absorbing about 1.2 H/formula unit (f.u.) and up to 2.4 H/f.u. is absorbed at 300 K and pressures ¿ 10 mbar.
