ChemInform Abstract: Double C—H Functionalization to Construct Polycyclic Heteroarenes Catalyzed by an Ionic Salt of a Pd Complex with an N‐Heterocyclic Carbene Ligand.

Abstract: Ligand. -The new ionic salt catalyzes the double C-H activation of nitrogen-and sulfur--containing heterocyclic substrates in oxidative coupling reactions with alkynes. Indoles, thiophenes, imidazopyridines, and imidazoles are employed as substrates. In particular, intriguing imidazo[5,1,2-cd]indolizine compounds, e.g. (IV), a rare class of heterocycles, are obtained as minor products. -(GHOSH, S.
