Di(tert-butyl) diazomethane: Thermal Decomposition and One-Electron Redox Reactions.-In an attempt to prepare tetrakis(tert-butyl)ethane from the title diazomethane, gas-phase thermolysis is investigated and studied by photoelectron spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. On chemical oxidation no paramagnetic species is detected, whereas chemical reduction yields a radical anion characterized by ESR spectroscopy.
