ChemInform Abstract: Hydrogen Gas Sensing by Sol—Gel‐Derived Proton‐Conducting Glass Membranes.

Abstract: Hydrogen Gas Sensing by Sol-Gel-Derived Proton-Conducting Glass Membranes.-The porous 5P 2 O 5 ·95SiO 2 glass obtained by heating gel at 700 • C has a specific surface area of 250m 2 /g and exhibits room-temperature conductivities of 6x10 −5 and 2x10 −2 g/cm under 0.54 and 0.9 water vapor pressure. These high conductivities are regarded as fast proton conductors accelerated by molecular water-bonded POH groups. -
