ChemInform Abstract: New Ultraviolet B Emission from Gadolinium Activated BaZrO3 Phosphor — An Electron Paramagnetic Resonance and Optical Study.

Abstract: Study. -BaZrO 3:Gd is prepared by combustion of an aqueous solution of Ba(NO 3)2, ZrO(NO3)2, Gd(NO3)3, and urea (1. 80 C, 30 min; 2. muffle furnace, 550 C) which produces a foam-type fluffy mass that subsequently is calcined in air (alumina crucible, 1100 C, 3 h) for the removal of byproducts and the reduction of internal strain.
