ChemInform Abstract: Novel Ring Transformation of Nitropyrimidinone; Synthetic Equivalent of α‐Nitroformylacetic Acid.

Abstract: Novel Ring Transformation of Nitropyrimidinone; Synthetic Equivalent of α-Nitroformylacetic Acid.-Ring transformation of nitropyrimidinone (I) with ketones proceeds in the presence of an ammonium salt to give nitropyridones and pyrimidines in moderate yields. In the case of nitropyridones compound (I) behaves as an equivalent of α-nitroformylacetic acid and in the other one as an activated diformylamine. -(NISHIWAKI, N.; WANG, H.-P.; MATSUO, K.; TOHDA, Y.; ARIGA, M.; J.
