Abstract:Preparation and X-Ray Diffraction Characterization of the Kambaldaite-Like Sodium Cobalt Carbonate Hydroxide Hydrate, Na2Co8(CO3)6(OH)6. times.6 H2O. -The novel title compound is prepared by reaction of Co(OH)NO3· H2O with a saturated aqueous solution of NaHCO3 at room temperature. According to the powder XRD data the compound crystallizes in the hexagonal space group P63 with Z = 1 and is isotypic with kambaldaite, Na2Ni8(CO3)6(OH)6·6 H2O.
