Abstract

Preparation, Crystal Structure, Vibrational Spectra, and Thermal Behavior of Tl 2H2P2O6 and Tl4P2O6. -The new compounds (III) and (IV) are characterized by single crystal XRD, IR and Raman spectroscopy, and thermogravimetric measurements. (III) crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2 1/c with Z = 4 and (IV) in the orthorhombic space group Pbca with Z = 8. The structures contain discrete [H 2P2O6] 2units for compound (III) and [P 2O6] 4units for (IV). (III) exhibits a three-dimensional hydrogen bonded network in which [H 2P2O6] 2units are joined to ribbons.
