Abstract

Syntheses and Properties of Medium-Sized Metacyclophanediynes. -The readily synthesized cyclic diynes (III) are hydrogenated under treatment of Schwartz's reagent to the corresponding (Z,Z)-cyclophanedienes (IV). In the presence of tBuOK the compounds (IIIa) and (IIId) form allenic moieties, e.g. (V), whereas cyclophanes (IIIb) and (IIIc) show a different isomerization behavior.
