structure structure (solids and liquids) D 2000 -007Synthesis and Crystal Structure of the Transition Metal Trimetaphosphimates Zn 3 [(PO 2 NH) 3 ] 2 ·14H 2 O and Co 3 [(PO 2 NH) 3 ] 2 ·14H 2 O. -The isotypic title compounds (I) are prepared by reaction of Na 3 (PO 2 NH) 3 with Zn(NO 3 ) 2 or CoCl 2 (H 2 O, room temp.) and their structures are determined by single crystal (Ia) and powder XRD. The phosphimates crystallize in the triclinic space group P1 with Z = 1. The conformation of the P 3 N 3 ring represents a mixture of an ideal boat and twist conformation. Chains of alternating M 2+ and (PO 2 NH) 3 3− ions are interconnected by further M 2+ ions to form electro-neutral double chains. The double chains are interconnected by hydrogen bonds. -(
