Abstract:268ChemInform Abstract Chloranil (I) is coupled with two equivalents of 2-aminoethanol (II) to give the benzoquinone (III) which consecutively reacts with the isocyanate (IV) and 2,2-dimethylaziridine (V) to form the bis(carbamates) (VI). The hydroxymethylanthraquinone (VII) is treated analogously with (IV) and (V), yielding the carbamate (VIII). The activity of (VI) against P-388 leukemia is tested in female mice.
