“…It was originally made up of two geostationary orbit satellites (GEO), followed by an additional GEO satellite for backup in 2003 . BDS‐1 was considered to be a positioning system rather than a navigation system because the user position was provided by an operational control system (OCS) based on the radio determination satellite service (RDSS) . RDSS employs two‐way channels between users and OCS, with all user locations tracked by the OCS.…”

“…The model resembles GPSKlob but is formulated in the geographic reference frame. The eight broadcast coefficients of BDSKlob are estimated with ionospheric TECs derived from regional BeiDou monitoring stations and uploaded for broadcasting with an interval of 2 hours . BDS‐3 adopts the new correction model BDGIM for global ionospheric delay mitigation.…”

“…Unlike that of GPS and Galileo, the current BDS ground monitoring stations are mainly located in mainland China . As the current broadcast coefficients of BDGIM transmitted in the navigation message BDS‐3 SVs are estimated from the regional BeiDou monitoring stations, the model is expected to show degraded performance outside the current service areas of BDS.…”

“…Users can obtain PNT service by receiving any branch signal and navigation message, and the service mode of single, dual, or triple frequency can be chosen by users. Since BDS‐2 was officially put into full operation in 2012, its navigation signal measurement accuracy, satellite orbit and clock correction performance, positioning accuracy, and timing accuracy have been fully verified . Under normal circumstances, the radial accuracy of the broadcast ephemeris of BDS‐2 satellites is better than 0.5 m, the precision of the ephemeris of the IGSO and MEO satellites is better than 10 cm, and the precision of the ephemeris of the GEO satellites is better than 50 cm .…”
