Chitosan/Graphene Oxide Nanocomposite Coatings on Mg alloy: Corrosion and Biocompatibility Properties

Abstract: In the present study, optimal conditions for the fabrication of chitosan (CS)/graphene oxide (GO) nanocomposite coatings were evaluated by the pulse electrodeposition process (PED) on Mg–2wt%Zn scaffolds. The size distribution of CS, GO, and nanocomposite coatings were evaluated using dynamic light scattering (DLS). The coatings microstructure and morphologies were investigated by the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV- visible), Raman spectroscopy, thermograv… Show more

“…The vertical placement of a syringe was employed to apply a 4 μL droplet of deionized water onto a 1 cm 2 sheet of every scaffold surface. The biocompatibility of the scaffold and coatings was evaluated in accordance with our previous researches through quantitative toxicity tests on the MG-63 osteoblastic line cultures [35][36][37] that were gathered from the Iran Pasteur Institute's national cell collection.…”
