Cholangitis Lenta: What Hepatologists Need to Know

Abstract: Cholangitis lenta is a histopathological diagnosis made on liver biopsy. • The entity almost always occurs in liver transplant recipients in association with sepsis. • It has a high rate of retransplantation, complicated hospital courses, and mortality. • Prompt and frequent communication between hepatologists and pathologists is critical.
