Abstract:A prospective clinical trial of 100 patients receiving either intramuscular ceruletide or a fatty meal to contract the gallbladder after oral cholecystography is described. The percentage reduction of the gallbladder area after 30 min of stimulation was not significantly greater with ceruletide (49%) than with a fatty meal (44%) (t-test: p greater than 0.3).
