Chronische RCS (chronic Central Serous Chorioretinopathy cCSC) als Differenzialdiagnose der feuchten, altersbedingten Makuladegeneration (AMD)

Abstract: Central neurosensory detachments (NSD) with time-dependent height constitute a disease called central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC), if not arising from uveitis, choroidal neovascularisations (CNV) or leaking retinal vessels. In 10 % of these patients, CSC develops into a chronic disease with recurrent NSD, atrophy of photoreceptors and severe drop in visual acuity. This review article summarises recent progress in understanding this disease and its appearance in funduscopy, FLA, ICG, OCT, autofluorescence as… Show more

“…The patient was diagnosed as having central serous chorioretinopathy and was treated with direct focal lasers to the noncentral areas of leakage, with counseling regarding the recurrent nature of the disease and risk of choroidal neovascular membrane. 1 While central serous chorioretinopathy may show focal areas of leakage at the level of the retinal pigment epithelium in 2 patterns 2 -a smokestack pattern in which the hyperfluprescence ascends with lateral diffusion and an inkblot pattern with uniform expansion of hyperfluorescence from a central point-this patient displays 8 distinct areas of both of these patterns.…”

“…Fluorescein angiography revealed 6 distinct areas of smokestack leakage and 2 distinct areas of inkblot leakage (Figure). The patient was diagnosed as having central serous chorioretinopathy and was treated with direct focal lasers to the noncentral areas of leakage, with counseling regarding the recurrent nature of the disease and risk of choroidal neovascular membrane …”
